Lars Wirzenius: FAQ

Can you help me with Linux, Linux programming, the C language, the Python language, or using Python with the GTK+ toolkit?

I am afraid I do not have the time or energy to respond to questions like these in private. When I do have time and energy, I participate in mailing lists and Usenet newsgroups, or write something for my web site.

In general, it is better to ask questions in public forums. This way, many people can answer and also many other people can see the answer. This means both that questions are answered more quickly, and that mistakes in answers are pointed out by other people.

Please help me with Kannel!

I have not looked at Kannel since Wapit went bankrupt in 2001, while other people have continued its development. I am sorry, but I do not have the time to follow Kannel development in my free time, and therefore I do not give Kannel support at all. See http://www.kannel.org/ for what is really going on with the project.

Can you help me talk to Linus Torvalds? He does not reply to e-mails.

Sorry, I can't help you there. If Linus doesn't have the time or interest in your request, I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to help you.

Can I invite you to LinkedIn/Facebook/Orkut/...

I don't use such services, sorry. I don't have anything against them in principle, but they require spending time on them to be useful, and I prefer to spend mine elsewhere. Thus, I won't accept any invitations. If you wish to keep in touch with me, please just send me e-mail, or talk to me on IRC, or call me, or whatever.
